French Bread Pizza

Somebody, please find me a vegan cheese that melts. Teese came close, but nope. I am hoping this is something that comes about in the next year. Then again, I usually prefer pizza cheeseless, but the other toppings sort of required that faux dairy topping.

This was super fast and easy to throw together. I used Muir Glen pizza sauce, Tofurkey Italian Sausage (I usually make my own sausages, but Tofurkey has been on sale everywhere, and it's just been so hard to resist!), green peppers, mushrooms, and Teese mozzarella. Which doesn't melt.

Eveyone's raving about Daiya - can you get that where you are?

Hey Megan! I find that Teese melts really well under a broiler. When I make Teese pizza, I bake it at 500 degrees for 8-10 minutes, and then switch the broiler on for about two minutes. It melts kinda runny and you can't cut the pizza for a few minutes or else the cheeze runs off...but it gets melty.

Also, it melts really well in the microwave...although you really don't wanna make pizza in the microwave, so...

I haven't tried Daiya yet. I'm waiting on the weather here to cool some more, so I won't have to order a cold pack with the shipping.

On Marmite, it has a very strong, veggie-broth-meets-yeast kinda taste. You'll ever love it or hate it. It's like that.

Sorry for the longest comment ever!
